Boom, post 1, let’s get straight to it!
How are people really making money on the internet these days?
As I’m sure you’re already aware that there are countless ways–most scams, a few that are profitable, and only 1 or 2 that I’ve actually found to be rewarding.
Here’s a list of the ways people are making money online, and a quick personal opinion on each of them.
Multi Level Marketing
I start here because, as of recently, this is an industry that has absolutely boomed. Now, when I say boomed, I should clarify that I mean that MLM is everywhere–but that’s not to say it should be. Most MLMs sell two things–their products and the opportunity to be a re-seller of their products. Products such as Advocare, ITWorks, Nerium and similar products have taken center stage in recent times. In the internet marketing realms, MLM is generally some sort of “club” or “coaching program” or other high ticket item that generally gains you access to some sort of info-product, and of course the ability to sell that high ticket item as well!
As mentioned before, MLMs rely on two things for success–selling their products, and selling the opportunity–both of which are crucial in their long-term success. One good way to see if an MLM you might be interested in passes the “sniff test” is by examining whether the MLM is focused more on their product, or on recruiting. With more of a focus on the product, I would feel more comfortable in essentially becoming a sales rep for this type of company; however, if you notice that most if not all efforts are aimed at recruiting–BEWARE! The term “pyramid scheme” gets thrown around a lot these days, and definitely has a bad connotation–that is because of MLMs that are based solely on recruiting.
This type of marketing can be summed up as becoming a sales rep of sorts for a particular company and/or product. The idea being that, when you sell something you receive a commission.
As inadvertantly stated previously–MLMs use affiliate marketing in that they provide commissions for sales of products, and generally provide the same for recruiting incentives as well.
As this is one of my go-to ways to make passive streams of income online, I won’t go into much detail here, but you can check out my other posts on affiliate marketing to get more info by clicking here.
Direct Response Marketing
Remember the infomercial? Billy Mays, rest in peace brother, yelling at you through the TV, letting you know how great his product is. And if you’ll call RIGHT NOW, wait for it, we’ll double the order!
The infomercial is the best way to describe direct response marketing. In essence, DRM is the ability to prospect potential buyers and persuade them into buying your product or service.

Providing Marketing Services (SEO)
Probably my favorite, and for two reasons: its the most lucrative and its the closest connection with the consumer.
In a nutshell, this way of making money online is helping local brick-and-mortar businesses in building and maintaining their online presence and reputation.
Because business owners are generally good at whatever business they’re in, they don’t have the time or interest in understanding the online arena, which opens the door for people like us to step in and do it for them–for a nominal fee!
In my opinion, this is the best way to make your easy street earnings for a host of reasons, which I’ll outline in future posts that you can find by clicking here.
